Ledger Live
Login, made clear.

Ledger Live Login begins with one important distinction: Ledger Live is the companion app, while your Ledger hardware wallet is where private keys are kept. This independent guide explains how to reach the official app, connect with care, and avoid the lookalike login traps that put crypto at risk.

What “login”
actually means

A wallet connection is not the same as signing in to a bank account.

Ledger Live is the official application designed to work alongside Ledger hardware wallets. It gives you an interface for checking accounts, reviewing balances, and preparing supported crypto transactions. The device remains central: transaction details should be reviewed on its trusted screen, and sensitive signing happens on the device rather than in a website login box.

To get started, navigate directly to Ledger’s official Ledger Live page and choose the version for your computer or phone. Download only from a source you have verified. Open the app, follow its setup prompts, and connect your hardware wallet when asked. Depending on your device and configuration, you may need to unlock it with its PIN and approve an on-device connection.

If you have used Ledger Live before, open the installed application instead of following an unexpected message link. Your accounts may need to be added or synchronized again; that process does not require sharing your recovery phrase. An app asking you to enter those words into a browser, chat, email, or support form is a serious warning sign.

Ledger Live can help organize a view of your assets, but a displayed balance is not a guarantee of value or a recommendation to buy, sell, or transfer. Network fees, supported assets, and available features vary. Take time to understand the network and recipient before approving any transaction.

you connect.

Good security is mostly a sequence of small, deliberate decisions. Make these habits part of every session.

01

Verify the source

Type Ledger’s known address yourself or use a saved bookmark. Check the domain carefully, and avoid sponsored results or unsolicited links that imitate the official site.

↗
02

Keep recovery words private

Your 24-word recovery phrase is a backup for your wallet—not a login credential. Never disclose it, photograph it, or enter it into an app, website, or message.

↗
03

Read every device prompt

Confirm the address, amount, and network on the hardware wallet screen before approving. Cancel if anything differs from what you intended or if a prompt surprises you.

↗

Go straight
to the source.

For installation steps, device guidance, or urgent security questions, use Ledger’s own resources. This page is an independent educational guide and is not affiliated with Ledger.

✳

When in doubt, pause. A few extra seconds checking the source and device screen are worth far more than rushing through a wallet prompt.
